Celebrating our Progress
Uplift the voices of women in the community!
A message from multi-award-winning Kath Mazzella OAM, Founder.
Every year more and more people are joining the community to celebrate the International Gynaecological Awareness Day on 10 September.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Women in our community suffer in silence. Some women may even die due a lack of awareness of the risks, symptoms and treatments for Gynaecological, Sexual or related Mental Health conditions or because they are embarrassed to seek medical help. Through creating greater awareness and acceptance, this will change!
By celebrating IGAD, we have an opportunity to create awareness, to shift community perceptions and save lives.
By bringing together men and women of all ages and backgrounds we can create the conditions for change.
By medical professionals sharing their knowledge and listening to the women sharing their stories we can create greater understanding.
Greater awareness and understanding will help us raise the profile to attract funding for prevention, early intervention and treatment. It will also help to save lives and improve the experiences of women seeking treatment.
Be part of the solution for women – help us to break down the wall of shame and silence!
And finally, however you choose to celebrate, make it fun!
